How many hooded cranes does Parc paradisio have as on ISIS it is listed as having only 0.1? Has the male died?

The male has, unfortunately, been killed by a fox. There's other (amazing) news from Parc Paradisio, but that's Forumbully's territory... I'll tell if he doesn't turn up soon though

The first Shoebill in captivity in the world is born at Parc Paradiso! It's unique! Born yesterday, 11 o'clock. (sorry, couldn't wait )

Finally!

I'm so glad it has happened in a European zoo, and one as good as parc paradisio.

Guess Marc just couldn't wait huh

The eggs were quite a few days overdue the (what is mentioned in the books as being) incubation time and candling did not show a conclusive evidence of an embryo. However, Paradisio decided to keep them in the incubator for just a few more days to see what happened and fortunately they did, because one of them did hatch.

Chick will be hand raised.

yeah, well I just opened a separate thread for it

either way. I'll be in the park sunday at the latest and should be able to get pics of the chick.

in the meantime, it's worth keeping an eye on the official website Parc Paradisio - Laissez-vous toucher par la nature! I've been told they're going to try to put a cam online.
