Thank you zoo worker. Expansion of the gorilla yard sounds good.

This has been talked about for a long time. I hope it is finally happening.

Well seal theatre has been demolished so, within the next few years, at the moment in the zoo there is a lot of renovation occuring, e.g. the old sun bears for red pandas, gung's new yard, the old jungle cats facility becoming tassie devil yards and of course the parking lot/front entrance upgrade, so i'll be honest with you don't expect something fast.

I have a question: what is the platform used for that goes inside into the elephant exhibit? I've never seen pics of it being used.

and also, what is the size of the elephant exhibit?

the platform is used for private functions mainly. sometimes in school holidays you are allowed up there at certain times, but the zoo cannot afford to risk unsupervised visitors dropping objects into the enclosure.

pretty stupid reason for not having it open. It would be just as likely for someone to drop an item into the moat.

we go the wall gardens infront of the water, which stops most, if not due to the current pulling straight to filter through the shallow front section just gets pulled straight out
