Rare gibbon survives at Perth Zoo - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)
Although her mother, Nelly, rejected her at birth, Li - lian, is now 7 weeks old and fighting fit, another perth gibbon success story, with the birth of the zoos 10th white cheeked gibbon! |

I'm not sure but I think Nellys mother might have been a female called Robyn. I'll try and find out for sure.

Li-Lian continues to do well and is being taken outside for short periods of time. She's vocalising and learning to swing like a good gibbon should.

Perth zoo has had another white cheeked gibbon birth, this male was born on the 19th of September to mother Viann and father phillip. This is her third offspring haing given birth to daughters in 2002 and 2005.
