English Premier League
Old 28-07-2008

Just thought we could give our predictions on the forth coming season, only 4 weeks (I think) until it all starts again

Champions: Liverpool (well if we manage two or three signings in problem areas)

Other champions league place: Arsenal, Chelsea & Manchester United (Is there any other team capable?)

Relegation: Fulham, Hull & Stoke

Being a Stokie, I'm going to try and call this one with my head not my heart...

champions: Man United - I can't see Chelsea, Liverpool or Arsenal doing it this year
Champions league: Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal - same as always

Relegation: Stoke, West Brom, Hull - At the moment, i can't see us staying up, but with a couple more signings, maybe. West Brom will be too vulnerable at the back and Hull are awful even with the signings. Fulham, Sunderland and bolton all have an edge over the promoted 3 at the moment.

Got my season ticket for the Britannia Stadium booked and I'm just going to enjoy the ride.

I think Stoke will stay up and Taun ought to be ashamed of himself, isulting the best team in Staffordshire!

Whatever happens, with West Brom and Hull in the Premiership, Stoke will get at least 12 points, bettering the record of Derby last season.

I think Fulham, Bolton and Hull will go down.

I so hope they do, but I can't see it happening I really can't.

I don't rate Hull's chances very much. They lost 4-0 at Crewe at the weekend.

The relegation places are easy its got to be Fulham,Hull City and Stoke City beating Derby Countys record for the worst team ever to play in the Premiership,as for the top spots if Liverpool get Garth Barry top spot should be between them and Manchester United,Arsenal should be third then fourth spot will be either Aston Villa,Chelsea or Spurs. If Barry stays at Villa then they have an outside chance of the third place spot, but on the whole i think Liverpool need to sign more than Villa need to keep him if they don`t sign him they will be fighting it out for the fourth spot in the Premership.

I've done some predictions for Stoke in the Premiership

Stoke score first

Aston Villa 1-1h 0-0a
Blackburn 0-2h 0-0a
Bolton 1-1h 1-0a
Chelsea 1-1h 0-5a
Everton 0-4h 0-3a
Fulham 3-1h 0-0a
Hull 4-0h 3-0a
Liverpool 0-4h 0-1a
Man City 0-0h 1-5a
Man United 2-5h 1-4a
Middlesbrough 2-1h 0-4a
Newcastle 1-0h 1-3a
Portsmouth 3-1h 0-2a
Sunderland 2-1h 1-1a
Tottenham 0-3h 0-4a
West Brom 2-1h 3-1a
West Ham 0-1h 1-1a
Wigan 0-2h 3-2a

Stoke to get 41 points and stay up.

Zoogiraffe will probably think I'm crazy, and I'll probably get none right.

No Bongorob i don`t think you are crazy, misguide yes i like the plan that you are not playing Arsenal so that you cannnot lose 6 points against them.Hate myself for saying this but Stoke may not get a worse points total than Derby but they WILL still go down.

I missed out Arsenal. I think 0-0 at Stoke and 0-5 at Arsenal.

I hate Arsenal after they robbed Stoke of 2 FA Cup finals in 1971 and 1972.

I will be pleased if Stoke finish above West Brom, the best team in the Midlands according to ITV Central. Obviously they do not know anything about football. Apparently they are such a good side they are known as West Brazil. Stoke outplayed them twice last season, and they lost 1-4 at home to relegated Leicester.

Actually I think there is more chance of Stoke staying up than there is of Stoke winning a cup game.

Right then bongorob so far 1 wrong 37 more to go,from what i saw they just looked out of their depth, but on a brighter note the Villa look a far better team than i was hoping for, considering Barry wants to leave and go to Liverpool he was showed total commitment to the Villa cause, take note Berbatov you don`t sulk about not leaving you show the other club what they are missing by not signing you.
Just to finish this little rant off a prediction for Stoke v Villa 0-2 both scored by Carew.

I didn't expect to get any of them right. Your prediction is interesting. My cousin is also a Villa fan and he says they will win, so I'm outvoted.

Anyway whatever the result I hope both sets of fans enjoy the game.

Zoogiraffe if you are going, be warned. The Britannia Stadium is quite possibly the coldest place on Earth.

Yeah, wrap up warm if you're visiting. Being on top of a hill and with 3 open corners, the Britannia is basically a wind tunnel!

I was at Bolton and felt we did ok until the last 15 minutes of the first half. We'll be better when our two best players start (Fuller and Lawrence) and we have all of the new signings in (Faye and Davies).

No I`m not going was thinking about but i have a ex-work colleague who is a Steward their and at the Vale, and he says that the council ground is always at least 2 or 3 degrees colder than outside the ground,on top of that have seen the state of the car parking at the ground the last time i went past on match day there were cars parked on the A50 because there was no where else to park,so as a result of that will give it a miss and save my money so that i can visit another zoo or 3 insted.
