I've been to the Seattle Aquarium, and it is a decent aquarium with some cool exhibits. The pacific octopus exhibit consists of two large tanks connected via a thin glass tube. The octopus (I think that they have a pair) can visit each other by squeezing through the long, narrow tube and venturing into the adjacent enclosure. The tube can also be closed off if they need to be isolated.
