Hello.
I'm new to the boards and thought I'd introduce myself. I've loved zoos since I was a kid and rarely go to a new city without visiting. I've been to forty or so here in North America, mostly the US, so I've seen the good, the bad and the ugly. I'm a fan of reptiles in general, gharials specifically. Other animals I'm always excited to find are okapis, striped hyenas, Indian rhinos, Asiatic lions and mandrills. I look forward to talking to everyone.

Good to have someone onboard who shares this thing about Indian Rhinos, personally Blacks or White never do the same for me Blacks maybe a little but not white. Sumatrans of course are the ultimate thing, but them I have only seen briefly for five minutes or so in Cincinnati five years ago. I wouldn't be considered avid fan of Asian Lions though, guess size matters after all, so I go African

We're very lucky here in the Cincinnati area (I live 90min from the zoo) to have Indians ans Sumatrans.... and Blacks. I tell my friends and co-workers who visit the zoo casually how rare and important the Sumatrans are and they just kind of shrug. They have no idea.

I've had a thing for cassowaries ever since I had one charge me at the San Francisco zoo. It just ran up into the chain link fence with it's claw pointed at me. Vulturine Guineafowl, Steller's Sea Eagles and Monkey Eaters are fun to see as well.
