Birth's at the Zoo in 2008

In june 2008 there was a Caecilian born at the Antwerp Zoo, something unique !

I think Marc is referring to a Barred Parakeet (Bolborhynchus lineola). I've heard them referred to as "Catherine's parakeet"...

CZJimmy, it is the Dutch name for the Barred Parrakeet.

Ok thank you! I didn't know the English name .
There should be a website where you can enter the name in your languague and that you get translations in English.

Great news!
This week a macaronipenguin was born at the Antwerp Zoo! It will be raised by the zookeepers. The Gentoopenguins also had a birth but the young died. The kingpenguins are still breeding...

When I was there in march there were three baby Cuora amboinesis. One was struggling to stay above the water and the people were shouting their parents (in many languages) and turning away as it, at one point looked as if it were dead.

The others looked healthy though...
