We'll all have to keep this in mind and look for nice horizontal subjects:- snakes, monitor lizards, mongooses, otters, crocodiles, herds of antelope in single file, Reeve's pheasants holding their tail feathers horizontal - keep your eyes open

Well, i browsed through czech zoos related gallery recently and i have remembered Jana posted some photos already in banner like style like these:

Damara Zebras at Dvur Kralove » ZooBeat Photo Gallery
Ringtailed lemur at Prague » ZooBeat Photo Gallery
Nile Lechwe at Dvur Kralove » ZooBeat Photo Gallery
Greater Flamingo at Prague » ZooBeat Photo Gallery
Nile Lechwe at Dvur Kralove » ZooBeat Photo Gallery

zebras, flamingo and lemur could be useful others are probably with too small subject I guess.

Edit: Oops i missed this one http://www.zoobeat.com/gallery/showp...hp/photo/10864

Not yet - I liked some of Jana's photos ... but I need to spend some more time thinking about how I want to manage this.

I have some other projects to get finished this week (got to pay the bills still!), then I will be redesigning the site a bit (not the forum or gallery structure - just the overall layout, new home page, new top banner etc).

As part of the new layout, I'll need to decide how I want to do the top banner and will look at options for including other images. As I previously mentioned, there haven't been that many suitable photos - mostly because of the narrow image required for the banner.

Your Pictures you linked to a while back are great! When are you going to switch the picture?

Thanks!

As I mentioned in a previous post - I am in the process of redesigning the site layout ... and part of that redesign involves changing the way I do the banner.

Just finishing off a couple of other projects for clients first.

I guess some of these could be useful:
Damara Zebra @ Dvur Kralove » ZooBeat Photo Gallery
Eastern Bongo @ Prague zoo » ZooBeat Photo Gallery
Baringo giraffe exhibit @ Prague zoo » ZooBeat Photo Gallery

Yes, except they are all far too small - I need a resolution of at least 1024x768, preferably higher.

I've got to say, not particularly fond of the floral banner. In my opinion, it makes the site seem more of a horticultural one rather than a zoo one (the giraffes worked much better)

I agree with Jimmy, as both of the Monarto Zoo shots worked really well. I loved both the giraffes and the lion.

Agreed. The giraffes were much better in my opinion.

That is a Crimson Chat - photo taken at Taronga Zoo on Saturday

So given that it is a Chat from a Zoo ... you could consider it to be a "Zoo Chat"

I decided to use this bird as the site mascot - the "ZooChat Chat"
